Technology
UTO builds camera systems that turn footage into usable information. Our own AI models recognise and track cyclists, cars, pedestrians and other road users, with no sensors in the road and no manual input. The result is reliable data on how streets and public space are used, with privacy as the starting point rather than an afterthought.
From camera to dashboard
-
01
Camera
A new or existing camera films the street. Together we choose the position and view that best answer your question.
-
02
Edge AI
On or next to the camera, our model recognises every road user and follows its path: count, direction, speed and behaviour.
-
03
Anonymisation
Faces and number plates can be blurred. For monitoring and city analytics the system delivers anonymised statistics, not identifiable people.
-
04
Dashboard
Results come together in a dashboard or through an API, from live detections to trends over months.
Privacy by design and the GDPR
Filming public space is a responsibility. That is why our system is built to process as little personal data as possible.
- Blurring. Faces and number plates can be blurred.
- No identification. For monitoring and city analytics the system delivers anonymised counts and movement patterns. For enforcement it is limited to the data relevant to the record.
- GDPR as a starting point. The system is designed with the GDPR in mind, and we agree the processing with each client.
- Explainable. Every record traces back to a concrete observation that a person can verify.
Integrations
Our systems are plug-and-play and grow with your organisation. They work with most existing camera systems: we assess your setup and advise on the positions and settings that produce the best data.
Results are available in a dashboard, or through an API for direct integration with your own systems, such as a mobility platform or the workflow of whoever issues sanctions. Processing runs from edge to cloud, so you get real-time analytics without managing servers yourself.
